Online Blackjack

Blackjack is also known as Twenty-one, Vingt-et-un (French for Twenty-one), or Pontoon. It is very popular and is most widely played casino game in the world. The standard game is played with one or more decks containing 52 cards. The basic rules of this game is to add value of an initial two card hand in hopes of being dealt a value of twenty-one. If a value of less than twenty-one is dealt, the player may choose to be dealt single cards until they either reach a value of twenty one or near to twenty one. The winner will be fellow who holds the value of twenty-one or nearest to twenty one without exceeding it.

How to Play Blackjack

These two ways can help you out in winning the game of Blackjack. The first one way to win at a blackjack table is to end up with a hand that has a total value higher than the hand of the dealer without going over 21. The second way of winning is to bust the dealer, by totaling over 21. Anytime the dealer exceeds the total of 21, any player still remaining in the hand that has not been busted is a winner.

Blackjack is played on an arch-shaped table at a casino and the dealer is confronted to the seven players. Each player plays his hand autonomously against the dealer. At the commencement of each round, the player places a bet in the "betting box" and receives an initial hand of two cards. The object of the game is to get a higher card totaling than the dealer's hand, but without going over 21. Cards from 2 to 10 the value printed on them count as that value and the jack, queen, and king also count as 10. But the ace card can be either 1 or 11 according to the player's choice. The player goes first and plays his hand by taking additional cards if he desires. If he goes over 21 points, he "busts" and automatically loses the hand and his bet. Then the dealer plays his hand. If the dealer busts, he loses to all remaining players who have cards whose values are equal to or below 21. If neither busts, the higher hand total wins. If a player ties with the dealer, the hand is a "push" which means he will not either lose anything or gain and the player's bet is returned. It is possible for the dealer to lose to some players but still beat other players in the same round.

Player Decisions or Options
The player has the following options while playing blackjack:
Hit - Taking another card from the dealer.
Stand - Your hand is set and finalized, you are not taking more cards.
Double Down - Doubling your bet, taking one more card, and then standing.
Split - If his first two cards are a "pair," meaning two cards of the same value, the player can "split the pair. Doubling your bet and having each initial card is the first card in two new separate hands.

Surrender - giving up half his bet and not playing out the hand.

You can take as many hits as you want but keep this thing in mind that you should not exceed more than 21. When you finally have assured total, you tell the dealer you're going to stand, and the game play moves along to the next player.
Dealer's Options
As the dealer’s turn comes last, he reveals his total. The dealer must play his hand according to the house rules. Usually the dealer must hit until he has a total of 17 or higher. If the dealer starts with a total of 17, he stands as there is more chance of winning.
Getting Paid
After the turn of dealer, it comes the turn of the payment of winner or loser. The dealer pays out for all the winners and collects all the losing bets before going to the next hand. The player to the right of the dealer gets paid off or collected 1st, and so on around the table.
